Resources for Mise en scene

The locations:

College:

·         Quad: Students making video’s reinforcing that it’s a normal ordinary day in college.

·         Media Studio: Dark quiet room of a figure putting gloves on and gathering his weapons. This scene relates to the film, “Nightmare on Elm Street,” where Freddie is sharpening his sword and claw.

·         Problems associated with the locations are that the quad may be busy which may disrupt our filming. However, we can overcome this problem by filming at a time where majority of students are either in lessons or after college.

Props:

·         Computer: to show the destruction caused by the killer and his motivations behind it.

·         Photo’s of previous massacres, For example the Virginia massacre.

·         Gun: weapon used by the isolated figure.

·         Camera: Students filming themselves.

Costume, hair and makeup:

·         The killer is withheld from the audience till the last scene but the figure will wear dark trousers and top. Also black gloves to cover his hands.

·         The college students will wear casual clothes, to illustrate that it’s an ordinary day in college.

·         The only make up that will be used in our film is blood, to reinforce the mayhem caused.

Lighting:

·         High key: As this scene is outside, we will be using natural lighting while the students are filming the college videos.

·         Low key: In the media studio, we will use spot lights to make the room quite dark while the killer is gathering his tools and weapons together, to add the effects of darkness and mystery to the scene.
