Feedback on Pitch

By presenting our pitch to four different groups, we gained a strong and accurate feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of our film.
One of the strengths of our film from the feedback off the groups is the concept of our film, based on the American High school massacres. The groups found the concept was very intelligent in that our film focuses on issues that happen in society and how a vulnerable teenager that’s being bullied and isolated by fellow peers can go all lengths to be noticed and heard. One of the weaknesses found with our location by the groups is that the location of the college may be too noisy for filming but suggested that we film at a time where there are less students and teachers around. Another strength noted by the groups is that the mise en scene illustrates a clear contrast of mood, such as the isolated figure wearing dark clothes to illustrate the darkness in him and the students wearing bright colours to show happiness.  Moreover, Simone, one of the girls that gave us feedback said our target Audience was the correct potential primary audience as it’s based on a high school massacre; students would be more into this kind of film. Also, the use of camera, such as pan, tracking, hand held was giving the approval however we have to be careful to use these shots at the right time.
Some of the weaknesses of our film that was noted were that we have to make the concept of the film clear to the audience, as although the concept is good, if not done properly it could get confusing. Also, Tien, one of the boys that gave us feedback stated that the motivation of the isolated figure needs to be established in the film on why the killer is so out to cause trouble and mayhem. Also, as our poster wasn’t established clearly, the groups noted that we have to make the poster catchy and to use thriller elements on our poster.
